About

Cabernet Sauvignon? In Southern Ohio? Yes. We are pushing the borders of American viticulture by attempting to bring the world renowned grape to southeastern Ohio. By blending modern technique with ancient practice we are growing the famed Bordeaux grape in the unlikeliest of places.

The unique mesoclimate of our vineyard provides a Goldilocks zone for our vines. High temperatures during the day and low temperatures at night creates a lush climate for our vines to thrive.

Our commitment to sustainability :

We strive to create an equilibrium with nature to produce the best wine Ohio has to offer. Some of these practices include:

No herbicides are ever sprayed inside the vineyard.

We have multiple barn owl boxes for barn owls to roost in the spring. Partnering with owls means we can control vine-root-eating gophers naturally.

Flowering cover crops can provide food and habitat for important pollinators and beneficial insects.

Solar powered electric fences so no deer are harmed in the protection of the vines.

Eastern Bluebird and purple Martin houses to protect against insects.

Geothermal heating and cooling for the lodging.

Recycling and composting programs for the vineyard and lodging.

There are 40 acres here that were originally a cattle ranch. The original ranch house has been totally modernized for every guest’s comfort.

Every guest who stays with us at Honey Fork helps support regenerative local farming!

We look forward to your stay.
